The graphics, although not quite as silky as in the previous PlayStation incarnation, are certainly a lot better than the 3DO game's visuals. This latest Saturn conversion of the game is no disappointment.
#Road rash ps series
Putting them together deliberately has long been the job of Electronic Arts, with its bestselling series of Road Rash games. The original Genesis game caused a huge stir when it was released several years ago. The good news is that, unlike real life, it's kind of hard to run out of money.īikes and violence tend to go together, thanks to Hell's Angels and those weird people from the Saturn car commercials. Out run ‘em or it could cost you a heavy fine. The other way to lose money is to get busted by the cops. If you crash out too much and don't finish high enough you'll run out of money and the game is over.
Each crash makes your bike run a little worse and handle a little poorer. If you don't crash too much you'll make it to the end of the track. If you want a top of the line Diablo 1000 it's a deal at only $25,000 (no tax!). Each bike is described on the screen with info about engine, weight, handling characteristics, and price. You can use the cash to buy better and faster bikes from the eight offered. You can, however, run out of money! No matter where you finish at the end of each track you get some prize money. Therefore, you can't die while you play this game. The kind folks at EA understand that life's not easy Road Rashin' on California's back roads. You can see the action behind you and watch as the riders you race against take each other out. The screen shows speed, tach, odometer, stamina meters, two mirrors, and a timer. It's got really hot bikes with great detailed graphics. You DO get a smooth scrolling motorcycle race game. You don't fight any alien mutants on sewer cycles.

#Road rash ps upgrade
The ultimate goal is to place first in the race in order to earn points to upgrade the player's weapon and nitro. While racing, the player has the option of punching, or using weapons to attack other opponents, to slow down their progress. Gameplay favors an arcade-like style, with little emphasis on realism. The game plays similarly to previous games developed in the Road Rash series, which involves the player racing their motorcycle against other motorcyclists.
